Description
The mission of the Past Presidents' Council of the North Idaho Building Contractors' Association (NIBCA) is to utilize their building industry knowledge and resources to support our local community through various philanthropic projects. Their 2017 endeavor, in partnership with Matt's Place Foundation, is to build Matt's Place Coeur d'Alene - the first home specifically designed to support PALS and their families as the disease progresses.
Together with our local community, this home will become a reality and place of hope for People with ALS and their families as soon as Summer 2017.
Matt's Place Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit , was founded by Coeur d'Alene native Matt Wild and his wife Theresa. Matt, a Marine Corps Veteran, was diagnosed with ALS in 2015. While the financial impact of this disease for Matt was greatly lessened by the medical benefits provided by the VA, he was alarmed to realize the terrible financial toll ALS can have on People with ALS (PALS) and their families who lack benefits. Their mission is to provide hope, housing and assistance to families living with ALS.
